As we all know, there’s been a major catastrophe in Haiti…One of the worst earthquakes ever has devastated the country. I heard about it and in instantly bowed my head in sorrow. It made an even bigger impact on me when I turned on hot 97 and all these individuals were calling in to add their comments about the situation. There were grown men and women, people who were natives of Haiti or had family members there, who were crying like little babies. They spoke about being at work and hearing about the tragedy in their home town and how they were non-stop trying to call their families and getting no response.
Those calls and moments just hit me right in the left side of my chest. I feel for these people and there families. We must also recognize that no matter where we are from, what country or what Island. We, as human beings, need to be grateful that this kind of disaster hasn’t happened to us and we MUST keep Haiti and the victims of this tragedy in our prayers daily and do all we can to assist them.
I was watching the Grammy’s the other night and Wyclef came on stage and spoke about his Haitian background and how he thanks America for their support. We must and we will continue to keep Haiti in our prayers and do what we can to assist. Prayers go out to Haiti from the whole SMG family.
